KAI Sotto won his first match with his new Japan B.League club Yokohama B-Corsairs which stunned SeaHorses Mikawa, 73-72, on Saturday afternoon (Manila time).
In roughly 13 minutes of play, the Gilas Pilipinas standout produced four points, four rebounds, and a game-high three blocks.
Sotto, who is on loan from his mother team Hiroshima Dragonflies for the rest of the 2023-24 season, was coming off a lengthy layoff due to persistent back-related problems.

But after a ‘long and proper rest,’ the 7-foot-3 center has been cleared to take flight for a struggling Yokohama side, according to his agent Tony Ronzone.
Following the huge win, the 19th-seed B-Corsairs improved to 11-14 (win-loss) while dealing the fifth-placed SeaHorses to their ninth loss in 25 games.
Both teams will go at it again on Sunday afternoon, the league’s final match day of 2023, as Sotto aims for his first start with Yokohama, 1:05 p.m (Manila time).
