KAI Sotto's impressive season so far in the Japan B.League hit pause on Sunday when he suffered a left knee injury in the Koshigaya Alphas' 79-77 loss to the Mikawa Sea Horses.

The 7-3 Gilas Pilipinas center was making a move at the low post with barely six minutes gone in the game when he buckled under his own weight, leaving his left knee in an awkward angle.
WATCH:
The in-form center stayed on the floor writhing in pain as play was stopped and was assisted out of the court minutes later.
Although he never returned to action, Sotto was back on the bench to watch the remainder of the match, which was seen as a good sign.
LOOK:

Still, the injury scare comes at time when the Filipino center is enjoying his most dominant B.League season yet with double-double averages for the Alphas.
He ranks second in the entire league in rebounding with a 10 per game average to go with his 14.5 points and 1.2 blocks.
However, the Alphas are just five rungs above the bottom of the B.League top flight with eight wins to show against 20 losses.
