With Hokkaido up by two and nine seconds of regulation left, Ramos slightly tapped the arm of Japan national player Josh Hawkinson, whose game-tying basket and subsequent bonus free throw clinched a slim one-point win.
Following the loss, Ramos shared a series of direct messages on Instagram from user @akamandart which contained multiple abusive remarks aimed at the Gilas Pilipinas ace and his family.

Ramos was called a 'dirty black monkey' by the user and was accused of game-fixing and making 'Hokkaido look so [idiotic] and dirty.'
The Fil-American cager was also told to 'break his dirty leg and retire' among many other insulting and derogatory comments.
In sharing the screenshot of the messages, Ramos added a smiling and thumbs up face emoji.
Levanga Hokkaido saw an end to its three-game win streak and currently sits 21st out of 24 teams in the division with eight wins and 19 defeats.
