Tamayo will be the second Filipino to play for the franchise after Jay Washington, who was released in December last year.
This time, the Gilas Pilipinas forward will team up with former Meralco import Allen Durham, Josh Duncan and Jack Cooley, and locals Hugh Watanabe, Koh Flippin, and Keita Imamura in the Golden Kings camp.
Ryukyu holds a 21-7 record in the ongoing season.
Tamayo could also see action in the East Asia Super League, with Ryukyu set to face San Miguel Beermen in group play in March.
