JANINE Pontejos scored 33 points as the Taguig City Lady Generals defeated Cleon and Clyde Lady Snipers, 78-68, on Saturday in the Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) at the Philippine Christian University gym in Dasmariñas, Cavite.
The national team standout exploded with six triples to lead the Lady Generals to victory in the resumption of WNBL action. They now join the Parañaque Lady Aces on top of the team standings of the seven-team league.
Vangie Soriano had 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Lady Generals to also support Pontejos in the match.
Snow Penaranda had 24 points and 19 rebounds, as Afril Bernardino added 15 points, 14 rebounds, and four blocks for the Lady Snipers.
