FORMER pro James Martinez had 27 points, shooting 4 for 6 from three-point range, as Jumbo Plastic Linoleum defeated Cagayan Valley, 88-75, on Friday night in the Pilipinas Commercial Basketball League (PCBL) Founders Cup at The Arena in San Juan.
Jeff Viernes also had 16 points for the Giants, who improved their record to 1-1.
Martinez kept the Giants’ lead for good, as the former PBA player and University of the East Red Warrior scored 12 points in the final period to help the squad bounce back from an opening-game loss to Racal Caida.
Junak Arce had 22 points and 14 rebounds for the Rising Suns, who lost their first game after moving to the PCBL from the PBA D-League.
