IT'S Showtime, led by Ion Perez, overcame a sizzling performance by Daniel Padilla to beat Dream Team, 80-77, in the 2023 Star Magic All-Star basketball game on Sunday night at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Perez, a co-host in the noontime show, scored 24 points while Johannes Rissler added 14 for It's Showtime, which outscored Dream Team, 22-13, in the final quarter to win the annual game among showbiz personalities.
Dream Team, coached by Ginebra guard LA Tenorio, controlled much of the game behind Padilla, who sizzled on a 7-of-14 clip from beyond the three-point arc. One of those treys was a lookaway right infront of the rivals' bench.
He finished with 24 points while Gerald Anderson added 11.
