Kevin Quiambao and Goyang Sono marched to the semifinals after sweeping Arvin Tolentino’s Seoul SK Knights in their best-of-five quarterfinal in the Korean Basketball League (KBL) on Thursday.
Quiambao now sets up a semifinal showdown against his high school and Gilas Pilipinas teammate Carl Tamayo and the Changwon LG Sakers.

Tagged as the league underdogs entering the series, the playoff debutants sustained their impressive run, escaping with a nail-biting 66-65 win in Game 3 to complete the sweep.
Quiambao once again anchored the Skygunners with 19 points, nine rebounds, one assist, and one steal.
Goyang dictated the tempo early and held control through the first three quarters, but Seoul mounted a late charge to keep things interesting.
The SK Knights unleashed a 20-12 run in the fourth to threaten a steal, but Nathan Knight delivered the go-ahead basket in the dying seconds to seal the win for the Skygunners.
On the other end, Tolentino wrapped up his season with 11 points, three rebounds, one block, and one assist.
