ISAAC Go caught fire from beyond the arc as he powered Ateneo to its second straight win in the 40th William Jones Cup, 89-78, over Indonesia on Thursday in Taiwan.
The 6-foot-8 center led a huge third quarter onslaught as the Blue Eagles outscored the Indonesians, 35-18, to take a 76-62 lead entering the payoff period.
Go picked up where he left off from a red-hot first half, as he scored 11 points in that stretch – going three for three from beyond the arc while Thirdy Ravena also got going to take the fight out of the Indonesian national team and improve to 3-2.
The two veterans outscored the Indonesian national team in that stretch, 20-18.
The Blue Eagles take on Lithuania on Friday with a podium finish still possible for the boys of coach Tab Baldwin.
Go finished with 21 points, making six of seven attempts from beyond the arc, while three other Bluea Eagles breach the double-digit mark.
Ravena finished with 14 points, eight boards, five assists and a block, Angelo Kouame had 14 points and seven boards, while Patrick Maagdemberg also finished with 14 off the bench.
Indonesia was paced by foreign reinforcement Ricardo White with 23 points, nine rebounds and five assists as Kelib Gemilang added 18 for the now 1-5 Indonesia.
