G LEAGUE Ignite's journey inside the Orlando bubble has come to an end, losing by 25 points to top-seed Raptors 905, 127-102, on Monday at AdventHealth Arena in Florida (Tuesday, Manila time) .
Jalen Green, wo is of Filipino descent, capped off his stint for the select team with a season-best 30 point eruption on an 11-of-20 shooting clip, while also collecting seven assists, five rebounds, and three steals.
It was not enough against the veteran might of the Raptors, which held a 69-56 halftime lead and continued to pile on Ignite after the break, taking a 20-point advantage, 98-78, with 1:17 left in the third quarter.
Green kept Ignite fighting, cutting the lead down to 12, 107-95, with 7:32 remaining, but the Raptors put the game away with a 10-2 salvo capped by a Henry Ellenson dunk to make it a 20-point game, 117-97 with 4:15 to go.
Ellenson showed the way for the top-seeded Raptors with 35 points on 5-of-9 clip from downtown, while also making eight rebounds.
Matt Morgan had 25 points, five boards, and three assists, while Nik Stauskas added 23 on 3-of-9 shooting from beyond the arc, to go with six rebounds, three assists, and three steals.
Raptors 905 shot 17-of-37 from deep to easily advance against the winner of the knockout game between No. 4 Delaware Blue Coats and fifth seeds Austin Spurs.
On the other hand, it's the end of the road for Ignite, which went 8-7 in the elimination round to snag the No. 8 spot in the playoffs.
NBA veteran Bobby Brown scored 15 points built on three triples, alongside four rebounds and four assists, while Amir Johnson and Daishen Nix both had 11 in the loss.
Congolese prospect Jonathan Kuminga missed his third straight game for the select team due to a knee injury which ultimately proved costly for their campaign.
Ignite earlier mutually parted ways with Filipino center Kai Sotto even before the 7-foot-3 big man could enter the Orlando bubble.
