NLEX-SCTEX tightened its grip on the lead in the Marikina City Basketball League, beating Philippine Army, 103-88, at the Marikina Sports Center.
Cameroonian import Ola Adeogun and former pros Dexter Apinan and Byron Villarias showed the way as for its fifth win in as many games.
Adeogun had another double-double performance of 17 points and 13 rebounds for the squad coached by Jojo Lastimosa.
Apinan and Villarias, who have seen action for the NLEX Road Warriors in the PBA, scored 16 and 13, respectively.
Arvin Vitug and Mark Pangilinan also added 13 each.
Meanwhile, former PBA players Jeff Viernes and Ronjay Buenafe led Hobe Macaway to a 127-111 win over Quick Print.
Viernes, who also plays as import in a Malaysian league, scattered 23 points, including seven triples.
Buenafe, who is also trying out for a spot with the NLEX Road Warriors in the PBA, added 20 points.
