    High five as rampant Bulldogs stay unbeaten

    NATIONAL University got its act together in the second quarter and waylaid St. Clare, 79-57, in the ongoing 19th Fr. Martin Summer Cup basketball tournament at the St. Placid gymnasium of the San Beda College-Manila campus in Mendiola.

    Rookie cager Mac Alejandro joined Bobby Ray Parks Jr. in scoring big baskets before halftime, which helped propel the Bulldogs to their fifth straight win and the solo lead in Group A.

    Adamson (5-1) moved up second spot in Group B following a default win over Ateneo-B (3-4) over at the Trinity University of Asia gymnasium in Quezon City.

    Shaq Alanes starred with 13 points while Cameroonian find Guy Essono drilled in 11 for Lyceum (2-3), which won over Informatics (2-2), 58-54, in another Group B contest.

    In the junior division, Jarrell Lim tallied 24 points for Xavier School, which tripped Fatima University, 69-61, and halted the winning run of the Phoenix at six games in Group A.

    University of the Philippines Integrated School (2-3), led by Juan de Liano Gomez and John Gregorio with seven and five points, respectively, beat National University (2-3), 81-55.
