A resounding 'no' was Helterbrand's reply when asked about reports he's joining the Bandera for the coming new season of the league set to kick off on June 12.
"No truth," said Helterbrand in a message to SPIN.ph.
Talks of Helterbrand coming out of retirement came about after a photo was posted on social media showing the popular former Barangay Ginebra star with officials of the Imus team.
The Bandera have undergone revamp in the offseason after tapping Budds Reyes as their new coach and Lou Abad of the Pasig Grindhouse Kings, champions of Chooks To Go 3x3 tournament as new team manager.
However, Helterbrand didn't deny that there are ongoing talks for him to have a stake in the Bandera franchise.

He added a couple of guys at Imus are his 'barkada.'
"But nothing final. Just talks."

Helterbrand retired in 2017 after winning his sixth and final championship with Barangay Ginebra in the Governors Cup.
A six-time All-Star and two-time Best Player of the Conference awardee, Helterbrand has kept in shape by joining the PBA Legends on tour nationwide.
He has also made himself busy recently by promoting the Tapang ng Tatluhan Ginebra San Miguel 3x3 basketball tournament.
