CEBU CITY - Prime Asia-University of the Visayas kept its undefeated run even as Lion Tiger-University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) notched a second straight win as the second round of the eliminations in the Enervon-Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc (Cesafi) Partner’s Cup got underway on Tuesday night at the Cebu Coliseum.
The Green Lancers clobbered San Marino Corned Tuna-Cebu Institute of Technology, 100-71, while USPF mauled Raphael’s Sports Bar-University of San Jose-Recoletos, 83-68.
The Panthers leaned on Joseph Sedurifa’s hot hands to turn a 15-21 first-quarter deficit into a 48-34 lead.
Sedurifa scored 17 of his 22 points during that stretch as the Panthers cruised to their second win in six outings.
USJ-R, on the other hand, remained winless in six games.
In the first game, crafty playmaker John Abad fired 14 points, including four three-pointers in the third period, while three others contributed in double figures for the Green Lancers.
Alfred Codilla had 11, while Mico Marquez and Cesafi Rookie of the Year-MVP Wowie Escosio chipped in 10 apiece.
