GRACE Christian College downed St. Peter the Apostle School, 73-52, and retained its 45-and-above title via a two-game sweep in the Fil-Chinese Athletic Association Inc. (FCAAI) Basketball Tournament on Monday at the Tanduay Gym in Quiapo, Manila.

The Danny Ching-mentored Graceans wasted no time in stamping their authority, taking an 18-8 first quarter lead before practically sewing up the win by halftime as they extended their cushion to 20 points, 36-16.

Replicating their massive 89-52 win in the opener of their best-of-three title series, the Mintex and Fullercon-backed GCC used a well-balanced attack to join the James Yap-led Hua Siong College of Iloilo as the league’s back-to-back champions.

FCAAI champions

Hua Siong College earlier retained its 40-and-above title by beating Xavier School, while Hope Christian High School made history by winning the inaugural 35-and-above and 50-and-above division titles.

As expected, Allan Anson Tan and Albert Edsel Chua led GCC with 13 and 12 points, while William Tan and Jeffrey Vincent Chua logged 11 points to highlight the team’s show of force in the tournament backed by Smart Sports, Tanduay Athletics, Genius Hardware, Ultraforce Tires, Cellboy, PGFlex Linoleum, Boysen, Lamtex Pipes, Jiang Nan, Hangry Pares, Powerhouse Tools, L.F. Fireworks, BYD Valenzuela, BAIC, Jetour, Yong Kee Roasting House, 1118 Autospa, and TCL.
