Gomez de Llano leads way as UPIS turns back Arellano in PCABL

JAVI Gomez de Llano scored 23 points and hauled down 19 rebounds to lift University of the Philippines Integrated School to a 98-92 win over Arellano on Tuesday in the 8th Smart-Pilipinas Chinese Association Basketball League Freego Cup at the Philippine Buddhacare Academy Gym.

Gomez De Llano earned the Freego Best Player of the game for his double-double effort as the Junior Maroons scored their second win in as many games in Group A of the 18-team tournament.

In other Group A action, Martin Robero had 12 points and 13 rebounds as De La Salle-Zobel beat AMA, 110-46, to join UPIS on top of the standings with a 2-0 record.

BJ Andrade had 17 points as reigning UAAP champion Ateneo edged Far Eastern University-Diliman, 78-50, in its first game of the tournament.
