Raiza Palmera-Dy leads Glutagence past Pacific Water in WNBL debut

Fiery WNBL debut for Glutagence

RAIZA Palmera-Dy scored 15 points as Glutagence picked up the first win in the Pia Cayetano WNBL 2021 season, 72-55, at the expense of Pacific Water on Sunday at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center in San Fernando, Pampanga.

The former national team standout hit two three-pointers in a pivotal third quarter, helping the Justin Tan-coached Glow Boosters turn a 32-27 lead at halftime into a 55-42 advantage heading into the final canto.

Palmera-Dy gets plenty of support

The 2011 UAAP MVP for Far Eastern University added seven rebounds and three steals in the WNBL's first game as a professional league.

Camille Claro and Khate Castillo also scored 11 points apiece while converting a combined five three-pointers. Carolina Sangalang had seven points and five boards, as top draft pick Fille Cainglet added six points.

Snow Penaranda led the charge for the Queens with 28 points and 16 rebounds.

The Glow Boosters look to win their second straight game when they face the Quezon Lady Spartan on Saturday at 1 p.m.
