GILAS Pilipinas Women put up a gallant stand before bowing to Japan, 85-82, on Thursday in the 2019 William Jones Cup in Taiwan.
Janine Pontejos scored 18 points and converted five three-pointers but the Filipinas fell just short of pulling off a shocker over the reigning Asia Cup champions.
