GILAS Pilipinas Women ended their campaign in the 2019 William Jones Cup with a 92-83 loss to Chinese Taipei 2 on Sunday in New Taipei City, Taiwan.
Afril Bernardino had 24 points and eight rebounds, while Jack Animam had 23 points and 14 rebounds but it was not enough as Gilas Women ended the competition with a 0-5 card.
The Philippines lost to Korea in its fourth match last Saturday, 92-80, with Bernardino scoring 24 points and Animam adding 13 points and eight rebounds.
The women’s national team is competing in the Jones Cup for the first time, and is using the tournament as preparation for the Fiba Women’s Asia Cup and the Southeast Asian Games this year.
