Gilas Pilipinas scored a second straight win in the 19th Super Kung Sheung Cup with an 85-58 rout of Hong Kong Wednesday night at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium in Wan Chai, Hong Kong.
KG Canaleta topscored with 15 points while Kevin Alas added 14 for the nationals, who hardly felt the absence of big man Greg Slaughter.
Slaughter suffered an allergic reaction and had to be brought to the hospital prior to the game.
"Had an allergic reaction and had to go to the hospital before the game. Hoping all the best for the team! #GoGilas," Slaughter tweeted on his account @GWillSlaughter.
But the Nationals had no problem dealing with the hosts, racing to a 37-19 lead at the half, and built the lead to 71-32 after the third period.
Gilas remains unbeaten on top of Group B with a 2-0 win-loss slate. It caps its preliminary campaign Thursday against Malaysia.
