GEMMA Miranda had 19 points and 17 rebounds as Taguig defeated PSI Lady Air Defenders in overtime, 69-57, on Saturday in the 2022 WNBL season at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium.
Miranda and Snow Penaranda also provided the heroics in regulation for the Lady Generals.
Miranda turned out to be a thorn on the side of PSI Air Force, her former team when she won the finals MVP in 2019 during the first season of the WNBL when it was still an amateur league.
Miranda, part of the Gilas Pilipinas Women pool for the 31st Southeast Asian Games, and Penaranda buried free throws to overcome a 54-50 deficit to force overtime. Miranda and April Siat then converted jumpers in the extra period to bring Taguig’s lead to 60-55 and never looked back.
