DON'T be surprised if Michael Jordan arrives in the country for appearances in the near future.
Mikey Rosales, Gatorade senior product manager for the Philippines, bared that they have been trying to bring in the NBA's greatest player for some meet and greet with his Filipino fans.
Gatorade has had a strong partnership with Jordan that goes back to the late eighties.
“It’s always been our dream to bring him (Jordan) here,” said Rosales in a chat with Spin.ph during the G-day launch of the energy drink's new logo at the Gatorade Hoops Center in Mandaluyong.
However, the hectic schedule of the six-time NBA champion has made it difficult for the company to arrange a visit by 'His Airness,' Rosales said.
“He’s a very busy guy. We still can’t say when we can bring him here, but anytime we can bring him here, if he’s open to do it… we’ll do it,” added Rosales, who also bared that Gatorade Philippines is also finding ways to arrange visits by the Miami Heat star pair of LeBron James and Dwyane Wade.
Rosales also bared that Gatorade is now finalizing a sponsorship deal with organizers of the NBA preseason game between the Houston Rockets and Indiana Pacers this October at the Mall of Asia Arena.
“Of course, the more sponsors that come in, the more we can lower the prices (of tickets). That’s one of the best ways we can do,” said the Gatorade official.
