GARY David of the Bataan Risers ruled the MPBL All-Star three-point shootout on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The 40-year-old David scored 23 points in the final, beating John Wilson of the San Juan Knights (17), Chris Bitoon of the Manila Stars (16), James Martinez of the Bulacan Kuyas (16), and GJ Ylagan of the Muntinlupa Cagers (13).
Prior to ruling the MPBL crown, the former Gilas Pilipinas standout never won a three-point shootout in his 13-year PBA career.
David actually did just enough to reach the final, barely making it after scoring 18 points, tying Ylagan for the fourth and final spot in the championship round.
Martinez took the first spot in the qualifiers with 23, followed by Bitoon with 20, and Wilson with 19.
