GARVO Lanete was excluded from the pool to the Southeast Asian Basketball Association (Seaba) Championship due to an injury but the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) assured the longtime Gilas cadet that he will be considered once back to full health.
Lanete was noticeably not part of the 16-man pool that will composed the Sinag Pilipinas team to the Seaba, to be held from April 27 to May 1 in Singapore.
But SBP executive director for international affairs Butch Antonio said Lanete suffered the injury - a meniscal tear, according to sources - during Hapee’s stint in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup.
“His non-inclusion to the pool is really based on him being injured,” Antonio said. “It depends on how he heals. But he will be considered if ever.
“Hindi sa hindi sinama. It’s more like the cause is not knowing the extent of his injury,” said Antonio.

The SBP official, however, assured that Lanete will still be under consideration once the extent of his injury is known.
“Once he is available, he will be considered to be taken (to the pool),” Antonio said.
The 16-man pool is composed of Marcus Douthit, Baser Amer, Mac Belo, Kevin Ferrer, Jiovanni Jalalon, Glenn Khobuntin, Ray-ray Parks, Kiefer Ravena, Thirdy Ravena, Prince Rivero, Troy Rosario, Jeron Teng, Scottie Thompson, Norbert Torres, Arnold Van Opstal, and Almond Vosotros.
