GAB Daganon powered Perpetual Help past University of the Philippines, 73-61, to give Nosa Omorogbe his first coaching win over new UP mentor Bo Perasol in the Filoil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup on Wednesday at the Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Daganon had 15 points and eight rebounds, while Prince Eze finished with 13 points, six rebounds, and three blocks as the Altas secured the win in their debut in the preseason tournament.
Omorogbe got the victory five months after he was appointed as one of the three head coaches of the team along with school owner Antonio Tamayo and lawyer Barry Neal Tobias. However, Omorogbe, a former player of the Altas, is seen as the lead coach of the Altas.
Perpetual Help also spoiled the UP coaching debut of Perasol, who was only officially appointed on Monday.
