BACOOR overcame Bacolod in overtime, 107-100, on Tuesday in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Lakan Season at Strike Gymnasium in Bacoor City.
MPBL Datu Cup Gab Banal posted 10 points, including back-to-back triples, in extra time to power the Strikers to an 8-2 record in the South division.
Banal wound up with 29 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds, while Mark Pangilinan added 18 points.
Also posting double-doubles were Michael Mabulac with 15 points and 19 rebounds, and Michael Canete with 12 and 14.
Bacolod and Bacoor combined for a league-high 30 triples.
Bacolod forced overtime on a triple by Jopher Custodio with six seconds to go, making it 88-88, but went on to drop to 3-7.
Pao Javelona topscored for Bacolod with 27 points, Custodio finished with 23 and Mark Tallo added 17.
The Rizal Xentro Mall Golden Coolers rallied from 20 points down to shock the Batangas City Athletics, 78-76.
The Golden Coolers trailed by 12 in the last five minutes, but rallied to notch only their second win in nine starts.
The Athletics, who missed the services of crack point guard Jeff Viernes, skidded to 3-3.
Quezon City trounced Imus, 105-93, to halt a two-game side to improve to 5-4.
The Bandera absorbed their third straight loss and slipper to a 2-6 card.
