    Arellano downs Perpetual in Fr. Martin Cup Collegiate Open

    JIOVANI Jalalon and Kent Salado combined for 31 points in leading Arellano over University of Perpetual Help, 63-55, recently in the 12th Fr. Martin Cup Collegiate Open at the Arellano gym.

    Jalalon also put enough cushion for the Chiefs by scoring three free throws in the final two minutes to win their debut game in the tournament.

    Bright Akhuetie had 28 points while AJ Coronel finished with 10 markers for the Altas, who suffered their first loss in three matches.

    Meanwhile, Reggie Debulcos and Mark Matillano each scored 12 as the Philippine Merchant Marine School downed College of Saint Benilde, 64-38.

    CJ Perez contributed 14 points as Ateneo beat Letran-B, 87-49, while Letran-A team won over Adamson, 55-51.
