    May 29, 2012

Far Eastern University booked a quarterfinal slot while Adamson needed two extra periods to secure a win in 18th Fr. Martin Summer Cup action last Monday at the San Beda Gym.

Russel Escoto had 10 points while Arvie Bringas added eight in a balanced scoring effort as the Tamaraws disposed off Ateneo-B Blue Eagles, 61-45.

Meanwhile, the Falcons turn back University of the Philippines, 82-76, in double overtime to move one win away from sweeping Group A.

The Tamaraws hiked their mark to 5-2 joining early quarterfinalist La Salle and Letran in Group B.

The Falcons already have the quarterfinal spot in Group A but had trouble disposing off the Fighting Maroons until Rodney Brondial made key baskets down the stretch.

Brondial scored four in an 8-3 finish by the Falcons to win their sixth straight contest in Group A play.

Roider Cabrera and Eric Camson led the Falcons with 17 points. It was Camson who forced overtime with a lay-up for a 73-all count.
