Former Red Cubs coach Reroma resurfaces as new USC boss in Cesafi

    Jun 3, 2013
“USC has not won a title in the Cesafi and the challenge of winning one greatly influenced my decision to join them,” says Britt Reroma. Jerome Ascano

FORMER San Beda Red Cubs mentor Britt Carlo Reroma will try to weave his winning touch on a struggling squad, taking the University of San Carlos Baby Warriors head coaching job.

The Cebuano coach steered the Red Cubs to three NCAA championships in the last four years and will look to boost the USC Baby Warriors, who have yet to win a title in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc.

Reroma said he received feelers from different schools but picked USC, as the challenge of elevating the juniors basketball program proved to be too enticing.

“USC has not won a title in the Cesafi and the challenge of winning one greatly influenced my decision to join them,” said Reroma.

Citing personal reasons, Reroma resigned in April as head coach of the Red Cubs.

The move to USC brings him back to the city where it all started. Reroma previously played for Don Bosco before getting discovered by San Beda’s legendary tactician Ato Badolato.

“It feels great to be back in Cebu and to be able to coach at a great school with this basketball program,” said Reroma.
