THOMAS Torres has embraced the system of La Salle coach Aldin Ayo as he goes all out for another UAAP championship in his final season with the Green Archers.

Torres is playing his fifth and final year for La Salle in the coming UAAP season and he is determined to end his collegiate career with nothing less than a championship.

But first on his agenda is La Salle's quest to bag the Filoil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup crown against Arellano on Sunday.

“I’d like to capture the title,” said Torres following his impressive play in helping the Green Archers beat Ateneo, 92-77, in the semifinals on Friday afternoon.

Torres led La Salle with 17 points, two rebounds, three assists, and two steals as he picked up the cudgels from Jeron Teng, who was hobbled by an ankle injury.

With the way La Salle has been playing of late, Torres said the Green Archers, unbeaten in nine matches so far in the Filoil preseason tournament, are on target to accomplish their goal in the UAAP.

“I think that nakapag-adjust kami and we are going to give everything. Hindi kami nagtitira, wala kaming tinatago. Binibigay namin lahat,” said Torres.

“I think ‘yung system namin, ‘yung program ni coach, ako na-embrace na namin. Ngayon, nagpe-pay off na ‘yung sacrifices namin. It’s still a long way but we are on the right track,” he added.
