SAN Sebastian beat University of the Philippines, 82-72, on Friday to record its fourth win in the Filoil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup.

Regile Ilagan had 16 points, while Alvin Capobres had 12 points for the Stags, who upped their record to 4-3.

The Stags’ quarterfinal hopes, however, still hinges on the match between Perpetual Help and College of Saint Benilde being played as of posting time.

“I guess they showed character. Credit to the boys. They never gave up. We are getting there. We are building our character,” said San Sebastian coach Egay Macaraya as his team gears up for NCAA Season 92 set to be played in a few weeks.

Paul Desiderio had a game-high 26 points for the Maroons, who capped off the eliminations with a 2-5 win-loss slate.
