SAN Beda remained unscathed after trouncing Jose Rizal University, 73-57, in the Filoil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup on Wednesday.

The Red Lions continued to roll as they upped their record to 7-0 in Group A heading into their final preliminary match against Ateneo on Friday.

Arnaud Noah finished with 17 points, while fellow foreign player Eugene Toba contributed 11 markers and seven boards for the Red Lions in the lopsided win.

San Beda coach Boyet Fernandez, though, insisted that the Red Lions are far from perfect but he was pleased his players responded with his call to tighten the defense in the easy victory over the Heavy Bombers.

"Marami pa rin kami dapat matutunan in terms of execution and our system," said Fernandez. "There are times that the players got out of the system when we were up by 20, which is human nature.

"But I emphasized that at the end of the day, I'm not looking at your score but the score of the opponent," said Fernandez.

Jed Mendoza had 15 points for the Heavy Bombers, who at 5-3 have already clinched a place in the quarterfinals spot.
