SAN Beda bucked another slow start and utlimately flexed its muscles to defeat University of the East, 68-55, in the Filoil Flying V Premier Cup on Friday in San Juan.

Arnaud Noah led the way for the Red Lions with points 16 points and eight rebounds as they stormed back from an early deficit against the Red Warriors.

With Alvin Pasaol finding his mark early on, the Red Warriors took a 21-12 lead after the first 10 minutes, and even led by seven midway through the second.

That's when the Red Lions turned the tide as they finished the first half with a 17-0 run, all thanks to Noah and Robert Bolick, to take a 38-28 lead at the half and never looked back.

"Medyo bad start ulit kami, pero as I've always said, I make sure to have different starters for every game," said San Beda coach Boyet Fernandez.

"We were down 28-21, so credit to coach Derrick (Pumaren). We don’t have to start bad every time baka kasi di makabawi sa 2nd, 3rd or 4th," he added.

Javee Mocon finished with a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds while Bolick contributed eight points and four assists as they improved to 2-0 for the tournament.

Pasaol, meanwhile, was the only player in double digits for the now 2-4 Red Warriors with 19 points.
