BRIGHT Akhuetie dominated the paint as Perpetual Help beat Arellano, 80-72, in a battle of unbeaten teams in the Filoil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup on Friday.

Akhuetie had 19 points and 13 boards while Gab Dagangon and GJ Ylagan chipped in 14 apiece for the Altas, who stayed undefeated with a 4-0 slate.

Kent Salado had 15 points for the Chiefs, who suffered their first loss after four games.

“The guys came out ready. We made them realize that if we want to be an elite team in the NCAA, we have to beat teams like Arellano,” said Perpetual Help coach Nosa Omorogbe.

Omorogbe, however, was not too pleased with his team's defense.

“It showed that we are not there yet because Arellano scored a lot of points,” said Omorogbe.

The Altas took a 44-30 lead at halftime after hitting 55 percent from the field.
