MED Salim spearheaded a National University fourth-quarter run to edge Adamson, 65-57, on Tuesday to clinch a semifinal berth in the Filoil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup at the San Juan Arena.

Salim scored 12 points including eight in an 11-2 run that put the Bulldogs up, 54-47, in the fourth quarter. NU held on to advance against either San Beda or Arellano.

“Med played really well for us especuially on defense. We were struggling with Matthew (Aquino) and Matt (Salem). ‘Yun naman ang role niya. Everytime we bring him in, he has to be a spark plug,” said NU coach Eric Altamirano.

Papi Sarr had 11 points and 12 rebounds for the Falcons.
