FAR Eastern University denied University of Santo Tomas’ upset bid, 86-82, to bag its fifth win in the FilOil Flying V Premier Cup at The Arena in San Juan on Friday.

Joseph Nunag and Richard Escoto led the way for FEU with 16 and 15 points, respectively.

Tamaraws coach Olsen Racela, whose team improved to 5-1, pointed out that the Tigers were by no means an easy opponent.

“Lahat ng pressing teams whether they’re undersized or undermanned they always remain to be competitive, itong team na ‘to (UST) is no different; actually buong game andun lang sila,” said Racela.

Zach Huang finished with 23 points for UST, while CJ Cansino added 20 and Kenneth Zamora had 16 for the Tigers, who dropped to 1-5.
