SAN Sebastian College turned back Adamson University, 89-84, on Friday to keep alive its bid for a quarterfinal spot in the FilOil Flying V Preseason Tournament at The Arena in San Juan.

Allyn Bulanadi had 25 points as the Stags improved to 4-3, tied with Letran.

Michael Calisaan had 15 points and 14 rebounds, Regile Ilagan also scored 15, while Arjan dela Cruz chipped in 12 points.

“Maganda ang nilalaro ng mga bata and the second group also stepped up, they played good defense. Credit to the boys and hopefully matuluy-tuloy na namin,” said San Sebastian coach Egay Macaraya.

San Sebastian faces College of St. Benilde next Friday. The Stags’ chances also rest on the outcome of the match between Letran and Arellano on Sunday.

“Alam naman natin gaano kagaling ang CSB and I guess good coaches and good team right now mahirap talaga talunin but we will try our bst, titignan namin kung anong magagawa namin,” said Macaraya.

Sean Manganti scored 27 points for Adamson, which suffered its second loss in seven games.

Jerrick Ahanmisi added 17 and Jonathan Espeleta contributed 13 points.
