PAPI Sarr powered Adamson past Lyceum, 90-60, to secure its first win in the 2016 Filoil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup on Friday at the Filoil Flying V Centre.

Sarr finished with a huge double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds as the Falcons finally nailed the win after two losses to start the Filoil preseason tournament under new head coach Franz Pumaren.

Jerick Ahanmisi contributed 13 points while Nicholas Paranada added 10 points and seven assists for the victorious Falcons team that also unleashed a stingy defense on the Pirates, limiting Lyceum to only nine points in the third period.

“We are still a work in progress,” said Pumaren. “As you can see, we were fortunate that the import of the other team was not around. We pounded them inside and we became more aggressive on defense. We need the consistency and a little bit of fire.”

Wilson Baltazar finished with 17 points for the Pirates, who played without African import Mike Henry Nzeusseu.
