All UAAP, NCAA teams accounted for in annual Filoil Flying V preseason tournament

ALL UAAP and NCAA teams in the seniors division will be seeing action in the 11th season of the Filoil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup which will begin on April 29 at the Filoil Flying V Centre.

Reigning champion La Salle leads the cast of 18 schools from the two biggest collegiate leagues in the country which have confirmed their participation in the annual preseason tournament.

The Green Archers are bracketed in Group A with Ateneo, Jose Rizal University, Letran, Lyceum, Ssan Beda, Perpetual Help, University of the East, and University of Santo Tomas.

Group B has Adamson, Arellano, College of Saint Benilde, Emilio Aguinaldo College, Far Eastern University, Mapua, National University, San Sebastian, and University of the Philippines.

During the coaches’ meeting held at the Filoil Flying V Centre on Thursday, tournament director Joey Guillermo bared a maximum of 20 players can be submitted to the league, giving coaches the chance to evaluate their lineups before the start of their mother leagues.

Guillermo also said teams are only allowed to field players who are eligible for the coming season of their respective leagues, and players serving residency will not be allowed to play.

Meanwhile, 12 teams will compete in the juniors division, where they will be grouped into two.

Group A will have NCAA and NBTC national titlists San Beda, Ateneo, La Salle Greenhills, Letran, Lyceum, and National University, while Group B includes UAAP champion Far Eastern University, Adamson, Arellano, Mapua, University of Santo Tomas, and University of the Philippines Integrated School.
