Stephanie Cumming had a game-high 18 points, while Sara Blicavs had an all-around game of 17 points, eight rebounds, and six assists for Australia which has WNBA veterans Belinds Snell, Laura Hodges, and Kelly Griffin in its roster.
Hodges was likewise a part of the Opals team that competed in last year’s Rio de Janeiro Olympics along with Tessa Lavey and Katie Rae Ebzery.
Lauren Mansfield added 12 points along with Ebzery and Alanna Smith.
Janine Pontejos fired 18 points to show the way for Perlas, which suffered a 106-55 rout at the hands of defending two-time champion Japan during the team’s Level 1 debut Sunday.
The Filipina cagebelles cap their preliminary round assignment by going up against South Korea on Tuesday.
