STILL nursing his broken nose, Troy Rosario is unsure if he can suit up for Gilas Pilipinas in the sixth window of the 2019 Fiba World Cup Asian qualifiers.
"Depende pa," Rosario said as he continues his recovery from the injury he suffered in a TNT KaTropa tune-up game against NLEX.
Rosario was named by national coach Yeng Guiao to a 14-man pool for make-or-break games against Qatar and Kazakhtan in the sixth and final window of the qualifiers for the 2019 World Cup in China.
The TNT forward said doctors left the decision to him, but was advised to treat his nose with great care and hold off any basketball-related activities until late February.
Team Pilipinas plays Qatar on Feb. 21 and Kazakhstan on Feb. 24, both away from home.
"Yung binigay na reminder sa akin is magpagaling daw. Hindi naman sila nagmamadali na bumalik. Wag ko daw madaliin kasi once na matamaan ulit ito, ganoon ulit kasi hindi pa nga totally naghi-heal," he said.
Rosario said his injury turned out a lot worse than initially feared.
"Matagal-tagal din yung healing dahil nadurog yung buto," he said. "Pero yun nga, depende na sa akin. If maglaro man ako, malamang naka-face mask ako. Sabi nila sa akin, ingatan ko lang kasi hindi lang ito bali eh, nadurog talaga yung buto."
