TROY Rosario will most likely be fit to play for Team Pilipinas in the sixth and final window of the Fiba Basketball World Cup Asian qualifiers.
National coach Yeng Guiao said Rosario is healthier compared to fellow pool member Raymond Almazan, who is still nursing an ankle injury.
“Si Troy mukhang aabot. Si Raymond medyo may pain pa siya kanina so I think between the two, Troy is more likely to be healthy in time,” said Guiao.
Rosario already played for TNT on Sunday during its match against San Miguel, finishing with 22 points.
Almazan, meanwhile, missed Rain or Shine's out-of-town game against Barangay Ginebra in Calasiao, Pangasinan.
“Mas mataas ‘yung degree of pain ni Raymond. Si Troy wala nang pain ‘yun. Maskara at protection na lang ang kailangan,” said Guiao.
Meanwhile, Almazan is hoping that he will able to join full practice for Gilas on Monday, but he expressed confidence he will be healthy for the February 21 and 24 matches against Qatar and Kazakhstan, respectively.
“Monday siguro full practice puwede na,” Almazan said. “Wala muna akong mga explosive na (moves). Aabot naman ako sa window pero makakasabay naman ako.”
