THE guard-heavy Gilas Pilipinas wound up bowing to the Tony Parker-led France and although Jayson Castro and Terrence Romeo managed to put up some shots it was the NBA veteran who had the last laugh with solid shooting and a bunch of assists.
Castro had 14 points on 5 of 11 shooting in 26 minutes of action, while Romeo made five of 14 field goal attempts and wound up with 19 points in a little over 25 minutes of play.
The Gilas tandem had a combined four assists — against the six issued by Parker for France.
Parker went 7 for 13 and finished with 21 points in almost 30 minutes of action.
Castro and Romeo were also two of only three Gilas players in double figures, Andray Blatche leading the way with 21 on 7 of 14 shooting.
Parker did get commit five turnovers, while Romeo had four and Castro one.
The rest of the Gilas guards had a combined 19 points with Jeff Chan coming up with nine.
