JAKARTA – Tickets for Tuesday’s Asian Games men’s basketball game between the Philippines and China are sold out hours before tip-off.
A check on the ticket booth outside the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium showed that tickets for the match are no longer available, several hours before the 4 p.m. tip-off (5 p.m. Manila time) match.
Interestingly, several empty seats can still be seen inside the venue 30 minutes before the start.
The game has attracted a lot of interest since Cavaliers guard Jordan Clarkson will be making his debut for the Philippines in the Asian Games against a China side bannered by fellow NBA players Zhou Qi and Ding Yanyuhang.
The game also has crucial implications, with a win giving the Philippines top spot in Group D, which would allow it to side-step a potential clash with Group A leader South Korea in the quarterfinals.
