Thanasis’ brother Giannis Antetokounmpo, the biggest name of Greece basketball, had already decided to skip the competition and is not part of the roster.
Greece will face the US, New Zealand, and Jordan in Group C.

Thanasis is the only NBA player in the Greece roster, playing alongside his brother with the Milwaukee Bucks.
A former player of the Houston Rockets and the Denver Nuggets, Papanikolaou will also be a player on the spotlight for Greece, serving as one of the veterans of the squad who currently plays for Olympiacos in the domestic league.
Walkup recently received his naturalization papers with Greece last April after the American guard played for Olympiacos.
