TEAM Pilipinas absorbed another loss on Sunday, bowing to Lebanon, 71-60, at the Meralco gym in their fourth and final tune-up match before the fifth window of the Fiba Basketball World Cup Asian qualifiers.
Lebanon pulled away late in the game to complete a sweep of the Philippines in their two-game friendlies, leaving the hosts at 1-3 heading into qualifiers against Kazakhstan on November 30 and Iran on December 3.
Following the series of tune-up games, national coach Yeng Guiao said he is now looking forward to the next few days in the final build-up for the Fiba Basketball World Cup Asian qualifiers matches against Kazakhstan on November 30 and Iran on December 3.
“Maraming lessons,” said Guiao, who emerged from the dugout of the Meralco gym for almost an hour. “We know we have a lot of work to do in the next few days. We have four days to put together all our learnings from this series and try to make them matter in the game that is really most important to us which is the Kazakhstan and Iran game,” he added.
Guiao also said they are now in the process of finalizing the 12-man line-up for the two matches.
“More or less, may idea na kami sa final 12. We will not make that announcement right away,” Guiao added.
