GILAS Pilipinas will continue to be without Tab Baldwin when it holds its Monday night practice, but the national head coach is set to return to the country on Wednesday.
Gilas team manager Butch Antonio confirmed Baldwin’s return this week after the national coach left for Florida to attend to his brother Terry, who later on died of cancer.
Baldwin recently paid tribute to his brother in a post on his Twitter account.
“How can I pay tribute to a man who's life is a tribute 2 how life should be lived? You helped me & showed me the better way always #ForTerry,” wrote Baldwin last April 6.
The American-New Zealander also missed Gilas practice last week, when assistant coach Jong Uichico who presided over a training that was cut short after only eight players showed up ready to practice.
Last Monday's came on the eve of a rare PBA Tuesday playdate, leading to the unavailability of several members of the Gilas pool gearing up for the Fiba Olympic Qualifying Tournament this July at the Mall of Asia Arena.
