TAB Baldwin said he was honored to have been given the opportunity to serve as national coach as he looks forward to continue to help the Gilas Pilipinas in a different capacity.
Baldwin was replaced as head coach of Gilas Pilipinas by Chot Reyes on Tuesday, but the American-New Zealander who led the Philippines to a runner-up finish in the 2015 Fiba-Asia Championship expressed his gratitude to serve the Filipino people through his stint as Gilas Pilipinas coach from 2014.

Baldwin said he was also humbled that he will continue to work for Gilas in a capacity as consultant, a role he previously played under Reyes from 2013 to 2014.
“I’ve been honored to serve the Filipino fans and Gilas players with our effort to succeed. I’m humbled by the chance to continue this effort,” wrote Baldwin.
