WEIRD as the closed-door set-up of Team Pilipinas' game against Qatar is on Monday, Stanley Pringle is looking forward to the opportunity knowing how rare of an occurrence the situation will be.

"I'm definitely excited for this game coming up. More so, I think it's going to be once in a lifetime experience because it's a closed door event. I think it's going to be very rare to play with a closed door and no audience," he said.

The unusual set-up piqued the interest of the NorthPort guard, who will be making his debut in the 2019 Fiba World Cup Asian qualifiers and will be replacing Christian Standhardinger as the squad's naturalized player for the home game.

For Pringle, what makes the game special is that not anyone can have the chance of playing in a game of this magnitude with no one in the stands -- a unique experience he can share to his grandchildren.

"As a player, every game, we always have cheering fans – which is great because we love the fans – but like I said, this is a different type of game," he said.

"There's no audience and that's something that's going to be cool to experience because after this game, you'll never going to get the chance to play in this setting. It's going to be silent inside there, quiet."

That's why Pringle is just thankful to coach Yeng Guiao for giving him this chance to represent the country once again knowing how deep the mentor's talent pool is.

"They have lots of assets in the Philippines, and to represent the country with coach Yeng as the coach, he has his selection of talents and things that he needs for the team. So whoever he selects for the team, everybody should be in full support of," said the former PBA Rookie of the Year.

More importantly, Pringle is looking forward to picking where he left off in the 2018 Asian Games where he dazzled the crowd with his fearless drives and killer moves in Jakarta.

"Coach Yeng wants me to attack, turn to the corner, to pick up the defensive pace, and change the tempo. So that's what I'm going to do," he said.

"I'm just looking forward to getting out and playing hard against Qatar and get this win."
