BARELY a week since their separation, Stanley Pringle and Robert Bolick were teammates once again on Monday, this time under the national tri-colors.

"Ang bilis nga eh. Na-miss na yata ako nito," said the NorthPort rookie in jest, six days removed from the trade that sent Pringle to Ginebra in exchange for Kevin Ferrer, Sol Mercado, and Jervy Cruz.

But though the Pringle-Bolick tandem only lasted for a conference and a half in the Batang Pier camp, their bond remains even though they're already in opposing ball clubs.

"Berto, we hang out regardless," said the bearded five-year PBA veteran. "It wasn't like, 'Oh, bye!' He was just at my house."

The two were quick to dial their partnership back in their first practice together with Gilas Pilipinas, working hand-in-hand as they got some shots up even before the training started.

And working with Pringle once again is a flattering experience for Bolick.

"Alam ko naman na nakikita niya ang potential ko at gusto niya akong tulungan. Napakasarap na feeling yun, na isa sa mga pinakamagaling na player, tuturuan ka. Masaya na ako na first year pa lang ako, siya na agad ang kasama ko," the former San Beda star said.

Pringle, however, clarified that it's not really him mentoring Bolick, but rather, a two-way learning street between them.

"Some say it's mentoring, but we learn from each other," he said. "When we're on the same team, we're working together working hard. When he sees something that you can improve on, he's gonna tell you. If I see something he can improve on, I'll tell him, too. That's what you want. Of course, I want him to improve and he also wants me to improve. That's all that is, we're both trying to improve."

That's why Bolick couldn't help but wonder how great would his partnership with Pringle have been, especially after this reunion in Gilas.

"Nakaka-bad trip lang na one conference lang ko siya nakasama. Iniisip ko what if one more year, two years kung ano pa ang pwedeng mangyari," he quipped, still thankful for the guidance he's getting from his now-ex-teammate.

"Nagpapasalamat lang ako na nandyan siya palagi para sa akin. Lagi kami nagko-communicate, at nagtatawagan. Masaya na ako doon," said Bolick.

For Pringle's part, he believes that the third overall pick in the 2018 PBA Rookie Draft will be a great asset for the national team moving forward.

"He's a great player. He works hard and you need that kind of mentality for the national team, guys who are gonna come in and be great team players," said the former Rookie of the Year.

"Berto's a great person, and a great player on and off the court. He's always gonna be good for the national team."
